    HOW TO APPLY - UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATIONS

    All UG applications will need to apply through UCAS. However if it is a very late application it is worth enquiring with Francesca whether a direct application can be made.

    International Study Centre (Study Group)

    Study Group operate the Internaitonal Study Centre at the University.  There are various foundation and pathway courses for both Ug and Pre Masters available.  C2C has applied to Study Group for representation (December 22) and are waiting for a reply.

    There is a pathway foundation to medicine offered at the ISC.

     

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    India Undergraduate

    Arts courses:  75% in 12th standard

    Science courses: 75% in 12th standard but 2 science subjects must be at 75% or above

    Biomedical courses: 80% in 12th standard with 2 science subjects at 80% or above

    Engineering courses: 75% in 12th standard with 75% or above in maths and physics

    Law: 80% or above with 80% in English.  Note LLB in Scotland is not recognised by the Indian Bar Council

    MBBS: 85% or above with 85% in 2 science subjects.  This will account for 30% weight, 20% weight will be given to the UCAT score and 50% weight to the interview.

    No open schooling is considered

    India Postgraduate

    If a 2.2 degree is required then the University will look for 50-55% or above from top universities like Mumbai, Kolkatta, IIT, 60% from State and Central unviersities and 65% from Private universities

    If a 2.1 degree is required then the University will look for 55% or above from top universities like Mumbai, Kolkatta, IIT, 65% from State and Central unviersities and 70% from Private universities

    No distance learning degrees accepted

    ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS

    80% in English 12th standard central boards will give an IELTS waiver

     

    GAPS

    Gaps are OK as long as they are explained in the CV and application form

     

    DEPOSITS AND TUITION FEES

    There are no deposits required.

    Tuition fees can be paid by instalments: 50% at the start and then over 3 instalments but must be all paid before the end of the first term.

     

    MBA

    Requires 2 - 3 years work experience. If students have no work experience they are recommended to do the MA in International Business Management.

     

    UNCONDITIONAL OFFERS

    The University does not issue unconditional offer letters once conditions are met but Admissions can let a student have one if your student needs one for an education loan.  However this letter will only be issued once she is confirmed online as unconditional ie has paid the deposit.  You can contact Marion Hurry (m.hurry@abdn.ac.uk) know if you would like an unconditional offer letter sent providing full information about your student.

     

    DIRECT APPLICANTS

    If a student applies directly and then seeks assistance through C2C they must complete a "Request to Assist Direct Applicant" form which is an attached document.

     

    ACCOMMODATION

    University accommodation is only guaranteed to 1st year UG students.

  • Commission(Additional Information):

    Commission is 15% for UG and PG and is paid on the gross fee ie it is based on the total fee before the deduction of any scholarship or fee discount.  This is unusual as most universities pay on the nett fee after scholarship and discounts

    Commission will be 7.5% for direct applicants.

    Note that no commission will be paid for students on the 5 year UG medicine course taught entirely in Aberdeen.

    10% commission will be paid for students attending the pre-sessional courses.

    Invoices to be submitted by 31st october for September intake and 31st March for January intake.

    Invoices to be accompanied by details in Excel of students in respect to which commission is being claimed and sent to Joe Whimster, Head of International Recruitment j.whimster@abdn.ac.uk.

    Contract is valid until 2025.
