    CREDIBILITY INTERVIEWS

Pre-CAS Interviews - Message from University May 24

As you will be aware, we faced many challenges and delays in VISA processing for students coming to the UK in our January 24 intake. In order to best prepare for the coming intake, and to do our best to ensure more students are able to arrive on time, we have introduced pre-CAS interview preparation sessions for all of our applicants from India.

Applicants will hear from the CAS team directly with an invitation to their pre-CAS interview.

Please assure your applicants that this is nothing to worry about, and is an additional supportive step in the hope that our applicants can be best prepared for their credibility interviews with the UKVI. Applicants can find information on how to prepare for these here:  https://www.gcu.ac.uk/currentstudents/support/international/credibilityinterviews

    DIRECT APPLICANTS

We have streamlined the process around tagging students to agents post-application. Agents should adhere to the process as follows:

    • Students should send an agent appointment email to international@gcu.ac.ukand admissions@gcu.ac.uk confirming they wish to use the agent services
    • GCU will acknowledge this email and until a reply is received confirming your agency has been tagged you will not receive updates on the student and will not be able to claim commission should they enrol.

    AGENT SWITCHING

GCU do not accept agent switching

We want to thank all your applicants for their interest in studying a postgraduate degree at Glasgow Caledonian University (either at our Glasgow or London campuses). Unfortunately, due to unprecedented demand we have been overwhelmed with the interest to join us, both for our September 2021 and now our January 2022 student intake. Competition for places has been extremely high this academic year. Due to the volume of applications and the number of students that have already confirmed their place, this increase in application volume means that regrettably we will not be able to process all remaining new business applications received in to the University. We have taken this decision reluctantly but please know that it has been done to ensure the best student experience for those students that are able to join us, with consideration of staff-student teaching ratios, and in an effort to issue all new international students with CAS before the start of Trimester. We have run all remaining applications through a machine learning application to help us prioritise applications for the few remaining places. This means that some of your applicants will receive a communication shortly to advise that we are now at full capacity and regretfully will not be able to welcome them to campus in January. We appreciate that this will be extremely disappointing news, however we would like to invite students to apply for a future intake where we would be delighted to consider their application. For any queries regarding this e-mail or any other GCU business please do not hesitate to contact us by clicking on the button below or click on the social media icons for updates from our team and the university.
