    Applications from Nigerian students

Applications from Nigerian students to Chester can be submitted to the Nigerian office of SiUK.

In order to apply share each student's documentation and course criteria in an email to the SiUK Relationship Manager:

    Eniola Adeboye - eniola.a@studyin-uk.com

In the SUBJECT HEADING please put the student's name/course/school/intake.  For example:

    ADEBOYE ENIOLA/ MSc PSYCHOLOGY/ CHESTER/ SEPT 24.

You must make sure you have ALL the documents to apply before submitting.  SiUK Nigeria will then check everything and submit the application to Chester.  They will then ask Limiya to add this to SiUK CRM system.

    PROCESSING TIME

Most decisions are made in India. They try and give a decision in 10 days/2 weeks. If a very urgent decision is needed then you can contact Kiran with a request. Otherwise wait for 2 weeks before follow up.

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

Please try and verify all documents that you scan. Kiran suggests that over a zoom call you ask the student to show you the originals. they are getting a lot of students who have poor English scanning different 12th certificates so that they do not have to do an English test.

All students in India will receive a pre screening phone call when their application is received. They do this as there are a lot of sub agents submitting applications without the students knowledge Credibility interviews will only take place after the deposit is paid. Not every student will receive a credibility interview, it will depend on their location and the answers they provide in the "genuine form" they will be sent.

Applications accepted from all States in India but note that the entry requirement and deposit is higher for some of the high risk states. Deposit is £4000. £7000 for high risk states.

Graduate entry to medicine possible for non science students. Must have top marks and go through an assessment interview. Course fee is £40,000. IELTS 7.0

MRes and PhD APPLICATION PROCESS (message from Uni 7 Jan 25)

    Greetings from University of Chester!

As we are starting to receive more applications for MRes/PhD, I would like to share the application process once again:

Applications for MRes/PhD go through a different process and there is no application form to complete as the first step.
To apply for a MRes/PhD, we will need to share the following documents to us first:

    1.                    Research proposal: This can be a short document of 1 – 3 pages giving brief information about the area/topic the applicant would like to carry on their research, their methodology and their research questions.
    2.                    Copies of academic qualifications:

    • English language qualification. We accept a range of English language qualifications: https://www1.chester.ac.uk/international/how-apply/entry-requirements If we accept a country-specific English language qualification e.g. WAEC / NECO / WASSCE / GCE / KCSE / CSE for undergraduate or postgraduate taught courses, then we will accept same for MRes/PhD
    • Bachelors degree certificate and official academic transcripts

Please send these documents to pgradmissions@chester.ac.uk copying applyinternational@chester.ac.uk

These will be dealt with by our PG Research department who work with the relevant academic department to confirm whether they have the required expertise within the department to supervise the research. If they do have supervision, the submission will be taken further, and the student will be invited to attend an interview and / or complete an application form. If there is no supervision available for the research, they will not be able to take the submission any further unfortunately.

Please note that the turnaround time for MRes/PhD courses is not the same for undergraduate or postgraduate taught courses. MRes admission processing generally takes a shorter time compared to PhD however you need to allow reasonable time for a response.

With MRes/PhD applications, it can take a while to get a response from the academic department so I always advise that students start early so that they can get things in place early enough. Intakes are the same 3 intakes – September/October; January/February; April/May

For information on fees, please see this page on the website: https://www.chester.ac.uk/international/fees-scholarships-and-finance/fees/

Students who come to the UK to study on a research based higher degree are able to bring dependants with them. A Research Masters would qualify for this.
