History
In 2021, Heriot-Watt University celebrates the 200th anniversary of its founding in Scotland in 1821. From its beginnings as the world’s first mechanics institute in the heart of Edinburgh, two centuries of innovation have led to what is today a unique international institution with campuses in the UK, Dubai and Malaysia. The Royal Charter, gave Heriot-Watt its university status and was granted by Queen Elizabeth II on 4 March 1966.
The Edinburgh campus is set in 380 acres of beautiful parkland just outside the city centre. There is a regular bus service connecting the campus to the city centre.

International Merit Scholarships
Students who have a first class degree, usually at 60% or above, will be given an international merit scholarship of £1500. Scholarship deadline for September 22 entry is 30th April 22. Contact one of our Counsellors for further information.
